Community Rules
Kept is people keeping promises in front of their friends. These rules keep it fair and safe. They cover your username, profile photo, check-in photos, notes, and anything else you add.
Be real
- Check in only what you actually did, with a photo you took for it.
- No one else’s photos, no old photos, and no photos of a screen showing someone else’s activity.
- One account per person. Don’t make accounts to approve your own check-ins.
- Approve friends’ days honestly.
Not allowed
- Nudity or sexual content.
- Violence, gore, or content that encourages self-harm.
- Hate, harassment, threats or bullying.
- Illegal activity, or selling drugs or weapons.
- Other people’s private information, such as addresses or ID documents.
- Photos of other people who haven’t agreed, and never of children.
- Content you don’t have the rights to.
- Spam, ads, scams, or pretending to be someone else.
- Usernames that break any of these rules.
Reporting
Tap Report on someone’s profile, a check-in you’re reviewing, a friend request or a public challenge, and pick a reason. We review every report within a day, and the person isn’t told who reported them.
You can also email hello@habitkept.com with the username and what happened.
Tap Block to stop someone finding you, sending you requests or backing your challenges, and to stop seeing each other on Kept. They aren’t told. Undo it in Settings → Privacy & security → Blocked accounts.
Usernames and notes with offensive words on Kept’s list are refused when you type them.
Intimate images shared without consent
If an intimate image of you, or of someone you’re allowed to act for, is on Kept without consent, ask us to remove it: email hello@habitkept.com with the subject “Remove an intimate image”. Include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the image, and enough to find it (the username, and which photo);
- a short statement that you believe in good faith it was shared without consent, with any details that help;
- how to reach you.
We remove it within 48 hours of a valid request, along with any identical copies we know of, and close the account that shared it.
What happens
We may remove content, ask for a new check-in photo, warn someone, or suspend or close their account. Content that may be illegal is reported to the authorities, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires.
Copyright (DMCA)
If you believe something on Kept infringes your copyright, send a notice to Kept’s copyright agent: Kenneth Lee Kang, 17852 NW Solano Ct, Portland, OR 97229, hello@habitkept.com (subject “Copyright notice”). Include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- the content on Kept you want removed, and where it is (the username, and which photo);
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you’re the owner or allowed to act for them.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with: your signature; the content removed and where it was; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with your consent to the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any court where Kept may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice.
Kept closes the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
